Sundance Must-sees

(The East)

That Sundance Filmfest has bested itself this year is kind of an understatement. A lot of buzz has been generated by the movies produced for this year’s festival, and here’s a list of the ones i’ve bookmarked to watch (one way or another):

The East(pictured above)
A story of a woman infiltrating a circle of anarchists, co-starring Alexander Skarsgård and Ellen Page — yes, you had me at Alexander Skarsgård. ‘Nuff said.

Kill Your Darlings
Daniel Radcliffe stars in this college-set true-crime story about the 1944 murder that drew together Beat figures Allen Ginsberg, Jack Kerouac, and William Burroughs. I’m hoping it will be as intriguing as Brick.

Before Midnight
Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy reunite with director Richard Linklater to check back in on Jesse and Celine, soul mates of Before Sunrise and Before Sunset. Talkie movies seldom hold a candle to action flicks, but this romantic duo has had my attention for so long and with very little effort.

Don Jon’s Addiction
Joseph Gordon-Levitt stars in his filmmaking debut of a porn-addicted Lothario along Scarlett Johansson, Julianne Moore, and Tony Danza. Yes, Joseph Gordon-Levitt. You heard me. That’s enough reason to watch it, people!

Ok, now to get myself a copy….
