Window Wednesday: Static Moment

•2009/09/22 • 1 Comment

Static Moment is a site by (then) 18-year old Artur Neufeld. He has commissioned projects with clients such as Vertigo, EvokeOne and Kitsune Noir. I love how his works are mainly a mixture of typography (beautifully designed) and 3D (elaborately done). Aside from this, he also dabbles into animation, photography and Tshirt designs. His range of creativity is truly inspiring. You can check out what he’s been up to through his blog.

This makes note organization a cinch, and the titles are pretty awesome too! Lovely blank notebooks from Archie Grand. Ooh, my birthday’s coming up soon too (hint! hint!)

Apartment therapy

I’ve been stuck at home for most of this week due to my sprained ankle. Needless to say, the so-called “homemaker” in me has decided to get busy and go through things around the house — goodness! i cannot believe how much i’ve accumulated over the past two years! It’s time for some much needed scouring and decision making on what’s needed to make the place more organized. These two items are top on my list right now to help me out in this dilemma:

The nifty bamboo entry butler is pretty cool and can definitely help me organize my stuff in the apartment. That will pretty much reduce space usage (no more catch-all on my kitchen table!) and give me a nice area to hang my keys (instead of me fishing them out of my catch all every time…)

These Spot-On! hooks will definitely give more breathing space in the kitchen — my pots and pans don’t have to keep falling off (the dent on my fave pan is a cruel reminder how TINY my kitchen area is)!

Of course, my favourite way to de-clutter my house is to separate what’s to be sold off/given away/donated and what’s to be left behind. This of course, brings about a massive digging into clothes, home items and other items of interest in the effort to accumulate items which i donate to charity. That for me is the great reward of “apartment therapy”— Just because you don’t have any use for it doesn’t mean it’s not useful anymore. De-cluttering enables you to really look into your stuff and see what you need (and don’t need), as well as give you a chance to extend an item’s value by giving it to someone who can use it. That way, it’s not just being thrown out!

What’s your favourite way to de-clutter your area? Share your ideas! :)

I’ve come to realize…

•2009/09/16 • 1 Comment

..that this “meme” is pretty thought-provoking. Read my friend’s list and it ALSO got me thinking (thanks Zsa! hahaha!). I decided to kill some time and so one of my own. So here goes:

I’ve come to realize that my chest size… is not proportional to my body. (Not sure if that’s a good thing or not, though)

I’ve come to realize that my job…is a constant learning experience, and for that i am grateful.

I’ve come to realize that when I’m driving…i am dreaming. I don’t drive.

I’ve come to realize that I need… to save up more. Being poor is no fun.

I’ve come to realize that I have lost… most of my memory to alcohol. (time to make new ones!)

I’ve come to realize that I hate it when… people disregard the consequences of their actions.

I’ve come to realize that if I’m drunk… i get really quiet.

I’ve come to realize that money… can make people do the craziest things.

I’ve come to realize that certain people… just don’t know when to shut up. (i agree on Zsa on this one!)

I’ve come to realize that I’ll always… want to try new things. I’m glad for that.

I’ve come to realize that my sibling(s)… have a great future if they work on it.

I’ve come to realize that my mom… is a beautiful, wonderful person and deserves much happiness.

I’ve come to realize that my cell phone… is a deadweight without battery power.

I’ve come to realize that when I woke up this morning… i’ve slept most of my “day” away.

I’ve come to realize that before I go to sleep… i watch funny shows so i’d fall asleep happy, even if my day was rough.

I’ve come to realize that right now I am thinking… about traveling.

I’ve come to realize that my dad… and i need to spend more time together.

I’ve come to realize that when I get on Facebook… i go directly to playing Lexulous.

I’ve come to realize that today… is thursday.

I’ve come to realize that tonight…. will be full of deadlines.

I’ve come to realize that tomorrow….will always be there.

I’ve come to realize that I really want to… be financially stable before i turn 30.

I’ve come to realize that the person most likely to repost this is… someone who would have time to kill. :-P

I’ve come to realize that life… is full of possibilities.

I’ve come to realize that this weekend… is a 3-day weekend. hooray!

I’ve come to realize that the best music to listen to when I’m upset is… my playlist of old familiar songs.

I’ve come to realize that my friends… are lovely, amazing people!

I’ve come to realize that this year… has been an eye-opener.

I’ve come to realize that my ex… and i are over.

I’ve come to realize that maybe I should… do some investing?

I’ve come to realize that I love… being with people i love.

I’ve come to realize that I don’t understand… how some people can be cruel and selfish.

I’ve come to realize that my past… is not my present or future, and i must let go.

I’ve come to realize that parties… are a great way to re-connect with friends.

I’ve come to realize that I’m totally terrified of… losing a family member.

I’ve come to realize that my life is… full of surprises. Always. :-)

The warm beige hues are given a new shine in Christian Siriano’s 2010 Spring collection. I am especially in love with the three items from his collection (see above)! The cuts are very flexible and wearable (plus the neutral color allows the wearer to accessorize!) How terrific! Bravo, Christian!
