No Impact Man’s blog led me to rethinking and re-anaylzing my Go Green Mantra all the more. No Impact Man, or Colin Beavan to those close to him, is a blogger who started the year long experiment of No Impact Living — by reducing, recycling and reusing as much as he and his family can, he is one determined fellow to teach by example. And I am truly inspired.
His Top 10 Eco Lifestyle Changes is a wonderful outline of ten simple things we can easily do to become catalysts in our own communities.
I must further my efforts by doing more of the things he has on his list.
Bringing a bag along with me has been very helpful, and yes, it’s become a part of my everyday stuff! With the heat these days, it’s hard to commit to observing an eco-sabbath, but an hour or two won’t hurt! Everyday can indeed be an Earth Hour day. Anybody up for some gardening?
It is very inspiring indeed. The world is filled with too much angst and jaded perspective most of the times, it’s easy to get lost in the shuffle they just stop and complain. I am happy that there are people in the world who are truly taking the step towards change, not by relying on just the govt and/or officers, but by starting it themselves. As Colin says:
“Believe with all your heart that how you live your life makes a difference to all of us. We are all interconnected. We make a difference to each other on many different levels. Every step towards living a conscious life where we consider the consequences of our actions provides support to everyone else–whether you know it or not–who is trying to do the same thing. We are the masters of our destinies. Let’s act as though it is so.“
This weekend, what eco-lifestyle will you change?
